PrayUK Summer Bulletin 2008 (July & August)

"So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone." (Ezekiel 37:7)

Dear Friends,

We talked last month about the sound that is coming from heaven at this time. That sound, certainly in part, is the sound of church coming together and being built into who Jesus intended us to be. It is the sound of the building up of the body of Chris t until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature, which belongs to the fullness of Chris t. (Ephesians 4v12,13).

Sometimes we can be skeptical or feel disillusioned because we think that we have been here before and that it has all come to nothing. We desperately want to see some reality in the life of the church and for people to be drawn to Jesus by His glorious presence demonstrated through His body. We know that it is God’s plan for the church to reflect Jesus in that way and that He will do it at some time, but we can easily feel that it is some time in the future and not now.

There is, however, a growing sense of excitement, which we believe is in God’s heart. It is in anticipation of the bride making Herself ready. God has assigned angels to minister to and to assist those who are inheriting salvation (Hebrews 1v14) and they appear to be becoming increasingly active as the Spirit of God is stirring His people. God is well able to do this - “Is anything too difficult for me” says The Lord in Jeremiah 32v27.

So forgetting what lies behind let us reach forwards to what lies ahead and press on towards the goal for the prize of the upwards call of God in Chris t Jesus. (Philippians 3v13,14).

In the light of all that God is doing among His people let us continue to pray for the church to respond to the Holy Spirit. Let us pray for a return to God of all those who have turned away from Him. Let us also pray for those who are of the house of Israel in the UK , that they would recognise their Messiah, Jesus. And let us continue to pray that, as the light of Jesus shines more brightly through His body here on earth, many would be attracted out of the darkness that is so thick around us into the kingdom of light.

Thank you for continuing to stand in prayer at this critical time.

PrayUK Summer Bulletin Notes

"So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone." (Ezekiel 37:7)

Day 1

"The One who has the sharp two-edged sword says this: I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith...” (Rev 2v12,13) - Pray for perseverance and strength for the church in the UK to stand strong and not to deny Jesus by our words or actions, even as wickedness increases around us. Pray for discernment to know what is God and what is not and that there would be a clear declaration of truth in love from leaders in the church.

Day 2

“I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades…the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.” (Rev 1:18-20) – Praise Jesus that He stands in the midst of the lampstands (His church). Declare that all authority in heaven and earth belongs to Him. Pray that the church will recognize the voice of the Spirit of God and pray that we will be open to His instructions and the ministry of angels who God has sent to help His church.

Day 3

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psa 34:1) – Pray for praise and worship in Spirit and in truth to increase in the church. Pray that God’s people would learn how to praise God continually. Pray for worship leaders in the church to be open to what the Spirit is saying to the churches about worship today and for refreshment so that their leading would be an overflow of their own heart of worship.

Day 4

“In the morning, O LORD, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch” (Psalm 5:3) – Pray for prayer to increase in the church. Pray for yourself and other Chris tians to learn how to watch in prayer. Pray for increasing strength for Chris tians to set aside quality time, even in busy schedules, in order to be with God and to watch and pray.

Day 5

"The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29) – Pray that, as the church recognises Jesus in our midst and allows Him to walk among us in a new way, that many would see Jesus as the lamb of God who takes away their sin. Pray for a clear declaration of the gospel and that the church would shine the light of Jesus. Pray for opportunities for the gospel to be proclaimed in your area.

Day 6

“Then in that day The nations will resort to the root of Jesse, Who will stand as a signal for the peoples; And His resting place will be glorious” (Isa 11:10) – Pray for Jewish people in the UK to recognize Jesus as their Messiah. Pray for an understanding in the UK church of Gods purposes for the nation of Israel and pray that the UK would come under the blessing that comes to those who bless Israel .

Day 7

"Enlarge the place of your tent…… you will forget the shame of your youth.” (Isa 54:2-4)–Pray that Chris tians in the UK will be able to leave behind all disappointments and walk into the things that God wants to do now. Pray that God would speak to you about His purpose for your life now and about anything that you need to leave behind. Declare your love for Him and your desire to walk in all that He has called you to do.

NB: Please repeat prayer points for the rest of the month).

Prayer: Thank you Jesus for what you are doing to build your church. We welcome all that you are doing and pray for the wisdom to see you and the strength to follow where you are leading us. Amen.
