PrayUK January Bulletin 2009
“A highway shall be there, and a road and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. … The redeemed shall walk there …” (Isaiah 35:8-10)
This is a new season, the old is the gateway for the new
Dear Friends,
As we enter into this New Year, we would first of all like to bless you with all of God’s rich blessing to go with you through 2009. As you continue walking with Jesus on His Highway of Holiness, may you experience an increase in measure of His joy and gladness. Indeed, may this be our prayer for all the Church in our nation that as we continue to walk with Him, may we be strengthened, and filled more with His joy.
Let us thank God as we look back to all that He has accomplished in and through us during this past season. We sense that as we start 2009, it is a new season, a time of ‘birthing’, when the old will be the gateway to the new. We sense we are entering into a season when God has already stretched out His right hand and decreed change – what He declares will be, and our first response can only be one of awe and worship (Isaiah 61:10,11; and Revelation 7:13-17), followed by standing up and being prepared for war ‘for the harvest is ripe’ (Joel 3:9-17).
During this new season, please pray specifically for God to ignite ‘hot spots’ within our nation, God already highlighted to us Scotland (see the Prayer Bulletin for last October), as well as the very centre of England – Leicester, where we sense He will pour out a new blessing of signs and wonders to confound those of other faiths and those of no faith.
As we believe God is moving us all into a new season, we are asking Him how He wants PrayUK to respond, our desire is to be more effective. This will be the last bulletin in its current format. We, as a team, are sensing it is right to move towards something more strategic and are currently praying and discerning our way forward. We will let you know immediately of further updates as they come. Thank you for standing shoulder to shoulder with us on behalf of our nation – keep praying with us!
Our love and blessings,
The Pray UK Team
PrayUK January Bulletin Notes
“A highway shall be there, and a road and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. … The redeemed shall walk there …” (Isaiah 35:8-10)
| Day 1 |
“This is a new season, the old is the gateway for the new” (Psalm 37:3,4) – Spend a few moments reviewing God’s faithfulness during this past year. Begin to thank and praise Him for 2008, for the gateways you entered through, and begin to pray into those new areas, personally and for the nation, that you sense God wishes to see birthed during this new season.
|
| Day 2 |
“A highway shall be there, and a road and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The redeemed shall walk there …” (Isaiah 35:8-10) – Give thanks to God for His Highway, for His salvation that enables you and others to walk with Him on His road. Pray that we may all be renewed with His strength and joy as we enter in to this new season in our nation.
|
| Day 3 |
“Stand up … for the harvest is ripe.” (Joel 3:9-17) – Pray for the church as God prepares us all to be ready for harvest. As the nation goes through a time of shaking, ask God to open your eyes to opportunities to share the love of Jesus in practical ways to those close to you. |
| Day 4 |
“So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations … [then] I will greatly rejoice …” (Isaiah 61:10,11) – Praise God that he has already declared His will for a change of heart for our nation; pray for God’s heart to be given to each person living in the UK, pray that the UK will fall into line with the many prophetic words over her.
|
| Day 5 |
“This is none other than the house of God, the gate of Heaven.” (Genesis 28:11-22) – Praise God that He has invaded our nation many times in history with His Gospel, pray for ‘hot spots’ of His glory and mercy to arise in this new season. Pray especially for Scotland and Leicester . Pray that He will pour out a new blessing of signs and wonders to confound those of other faiths and convict those of no faith.
|
| Day 6 |
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS” (Matt 11:29) – Pray for the church to cease striving, take up Christ’s yoke and be all that He desires her to be. Pray for a peace and rest upon God’s people that will be infectious and will attract others to Jesus. Pray for others you know to be attracted to God through the peace that is in your heart.
|
| Day 7 |
“Unless the Lord builds the house . . . so He gives His Beloved sleep.” (Psalm 127:1,2) – Thank God that He is in perfect control of our nation and He will bring about the outworking of His will. Pray that many will see God’s glory as His love and mercy are demonstrated during this new season. Thank God for the Queen and her family, pray for them and the government to be so enraptured by Christ’s love that they will respond with a change of heart.
|
| |
NB: Please repeat prayer points for the rest of the month). |
Prayer:
We thank You Father God, for this new season; we ask You to walk us into it with Christ’s love and the Holy Spirit’s boldness. May we as individuals continue to be faithful in prayer, with our eyes open and always responsive to Your prompting to be the answer to our own prayers. May we be expectant to what You have declared over our nation, and always wise to recognise what You are doing in the name of Jesus we ask – Amen.
