PrayUK November Bulletin 2008
“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority…” (1 Timothy 2:1)
Dear Friends,
I am reminded of that recent song, “God is good – He is good all of the time!” At times, it is good to remind ourselves that God is firmly on the Throne and in control of our own situation, as well as that of our nation and others across the globe.
Following on from last month, we believe it is right in November to continue to press on into God for our nation, especially for individuals and families who are beginning to be caught up in the financial situation. Please pray as Paul instructs us, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority…” (1Timothy 2:1). Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as to what else He reveals to you to pray for as we sense there is a spiritual challenge being fought over in the heavenlies; we are just seeing part of it being displayed here on earth.
We must remember to keep our eyes on Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah , Who likes to display Himself as a Lamb, while the enemy struts about as a roaring lion. It is good to know Who wins in the end!
Thank you for praying with us and be encouraged!

| Day 1 |
“Pray for … all men, for kings and all who are in authority … [that they] may lead a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and reverence.” (1 Timothy 2:1,2) – Thank God for our Queen and Government, for the stability and well being of our nation; and pray for on-going godliness and wisdom for all those in authority who are making difficult financial and political decisions.

| Day 2 |
“And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be…” (Jeremiah 29:7) – Come before God in repentance on behalf of our nation for our greed and miss-management of our ‘wealth’ over the last 10 or 20 years. Pray for peace and national stability through the coming season of uncertainty.
|
| Day 3 |
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105) – Pray for God’s ‘Josephs’ to be in the right place to bring Godly influence and wisdom into society and to our Government in particular. Pray that the true facts of the current situation will be revealed and for a Godly answer to be provided for our nation to follow, rather than an unrighteous alternative. |
| Day 4 |
“… until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgement was made in favour of the saints …” (Daniel 7:21-22) – Praise God that He is still firmly ‘on the throne’, and that His will is being worked out in the lives of the people of our nation. Thank Him for the privilege of living through such times as these, and pray for strength and wisdom for the Church to stand and be a compassionate voice into the nation.
|
| Day 5 |
“… I wanted to gather your children as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings …” (Matthew 23:37 -39) – Thank God for His mercy, His love and protection. Pray that England is reined in and drawn back into His protective arms. Pray for opportunities to share the Gospel and positive response from those who don’t yet know Christ.
|
| Day 6 |
“Cast the net …” (John 21:6) – Thank God that His heart is to save and heal those in the UK , particularly in Scotland . Pray that the current season of financial uncertainty will lead to ‘revival’.
|
| Day 7 |
“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour You will surround him as a shield.” (Psalm 5:12 ) – Give thanks to the Lord as He is your good, Heavenly Father, Whose intent is to bless and look after you. Thank Him for His daily provision and blessings; ask for His strategy and wisdom through this coming season.

| |
NB: Please repeat prayer points for the rest of the month). |
Prayer:
We bless You, Sovereign God, for the people of our nation, and ask that You will draw many into Your arms of love and protection. As the world re-establishes a season of ‘normality’, may the Church arise and be the voice and compassionate hands that You desire. May Your will and purposes be fulfilled at this time O God – Amen.
